Our First Music Video!
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1959987130/our-first-music-video
Raise your hand if you or someone you know has been bullied at school for being different. OK. Next question. Who here has benefited from a public school arts education program or teacher?
If the camera were turned on us, you’d have seen us raise our hands just now.
We’re a band that grew up with a passion for classical music. Yeah, it wasn’t considered cool. But we had some pretty influential teachers and role models who inspired and encouraged us to stick with it.
Fast forward to …today. We make a living making music and we have an opportunity to make our first music video. Do we want to “look cool” or do we want to inspire kids like us? It was hardly a tough decision.
This is where you come in.
We’ve attached an amazing crew to make our first music video come to life. Leading the charge is the very experienced Brian Lazzaro who’s directed music videos for Pink, Rilo Kiley, Rooney… and the list goes on. We’re thrilled to work with him.
But here’s the deal: we can’t begin shooting the video unless we can guarantee Brian that we can pay for it (he’s got a good head on those shoulders!). So we need your help to raise $15,000 by the start of the scheduled shoot in LA on August 26th.
We’ve got details.
The music video we’re making follows a young boy (age 10-14, we’re still casting) who is passionate about playing the violin but is bullied at school for not fitting in. He goes to one of our concerts with other kids from the orchestra and is inspired by our show. A chance encounter with us backstage and a few encouraging words give him the confidence to sign up for the school talent competition. After overcoming his stage fright and channeling the support he received from his teachers and the band, he gives a performance of our song and brings the house down.
We’re giving our fans what they’ve long asked for. The soundtrack to the music video is an original arrangement of the Kanye West song “Stronger” combined with Daft Punk’s “Nightvision.” The arrangement was created by our incredibly talented producer Steve Hackman, and co-arranged by Zach DePue, Nick Kendall, and Ranaan Meyer (that’s us!).
Here’s our pledge to you.
We won’t be able to do this without each and every one of you. Literally. In exchange for your gift and for sharing our project with your friends, we promise to keep you informed every step of the way until this project is finished and released.
From getting the soundtrack ready, to creating the t-shirts, to casting our lead, to flying to LA (we promise no stops in Vegas), to shooting the music video, we promise to make you part of the creative process.
To all our supporters, here ya go: a virtual backstage pass to our project as it unfolds behind the scenes.
With love,
Time for Three

Time for Three Newsletter
Hi everyone, Time for Three wants to thank you for helping make 2010 a great year for us. Between our wonderful Happy Hour series as part of our residency with ISO, our performance schedule that took us all over the country, our collaboration with Chris Brubeck on his composition Travels in Time for Three, the several outreach programs Tf3 is involved in, and so much more, we’ve kept very busy. We hope you’ll continue to follow and support Tf3’s endeavors in 2011 as we continue to work hard to make classically-grounded music that is fun and accessible to everyone. Our desire to expand listeners’ musical experiences is a major influence behind the music we make. Way back at the beginning of the year, we released Three Fervent Travelers on E1, and we were amazed at the response. It debuted in the top 10 on Billboard, Amazon and iTunes, and remained in the top 10 on the Billboard Crossover Charts for more than 10 months! That was a great way to kick off our year, and the busy schedule of touring that was to come. One of the highlights of 2010 was working and performing with all of the fantastic orchestras across the country. In March we premiered Travels in Time for Three by Chris Brubeck (a wonderful composer and son of jazz legend Dave Brubeck) with the Youngstown Symphony in Ohio. The reception was wonderful. Over the summer we performed the piece with the Boston Pops and again in November with the Portland Symphony Orchestra in Portland, Maine. We have also been enjoying ourselves in Indianapolis with our residency with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. One of the best parts has been the “Happy Hour” series that we curate, which lets us get creative in presenting an evening of music like no other! We’re so grateful to the ISO and our sponsor, Stella Artois, for this wonderful opportunity, and we’re totally overwhelmed by the response the series has received so far. We feel lucky to be able to make our livings by creating and performing music and doing something that we truly love. We are grateful to the large community of supporters out there who make that possible, and as our way of showing our appreciation, the members of Time for Three feel it is our responsibility to give back. That is why a large part of our energy is channeled into various charity and non-profit projects. Early in 2010, we participated in a benefit performance that helped raise more than $8 million for Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which is a summer camp for children and their families coping with cancer and other serious illnesses and conditions. Ranaan has also dedicated a lot of his energy to another camp, the Wabass Institute for the 21 st Century Bass Player.
Now in its third year, the camp offers free tuition to aspiring bass players who otherwise might not receive an opportunity to work with professional musicians to develop their skills. It is an extension of Ranaan’s commitment to sharing his love of music with the new generation of musicians who are just discovering their potential. Additionally, 2010 saw Time for Three performing in dozens of grade schools, highschools, hospitals and nursing homes across the country, because we want to reach out and inspire people with our music. We believe music has the ability to bring people together in a powerful way. When you come out to one of our shows, or purchase our album or recommend our music to your friends, you are contributing to making all of this possible. So, thank you! We hope you will continue to support the music of Time for Three and our various endeavors as the new year goes along. We expect to have some exciting news for you soon regarding album plans, tours, and much more. You can keep up to date with our news, along with contests and tour dates at our social networks: Time for Three on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Youtube Happy New Year, from Time for Three!

Time for Three Thanksgiving thanks!

There is much that I’m thankful for. First my Mom and Dad for continually
supporting me in my life and for their generosity. I hope they realize
that they have to live forever because I honestly can’t imagine life
without them. My brother Adam for beating me up as a kid and making
me tough as an adult.! LOL.. My nieces for showing me true honesty
and for our time spent spinning around and falling down.. Why is it that only
little ones spin to get dizzy? My sister in-law for loving her family
unconditionally. My true friends for letting our priority be laughter
and more laughter. Sometimes I wonder what else matters? My
girlfriend Emily for giving me true love and supporting me through
thick and thin.
I am also thankful to have a career that is absolutely wonderful! My music and
collaborations continue to be a gift from above. I feel so
fortunate to get paid to do something that I truly love. I have been
with Time for Three for 10 years and am so thankful for this. Through
Time for Three I get to collaborate with two amazing artists and friends, Nick and
Zach. As of this past year I have also had the pleasure of performing
with drummer Matt Scarano who is a superb musician and fantastic human
being. It has also been great working with Steve Hackman as the
conductor of Tf3’s Music for the Modern Day Pops Happy Hour Series
with the Indianapolis Symphony! Tf3 can not stand alone we need the support of our team. Charles and Rachele from IMG Artists,
Susan Delgiorno from our record label E1, our booking
agents from IMG Artists and everyone else at E1 work hard to make our
dreams come true. Also a special thanks to Jaime Campbell Morton of Artspromo, Stephen Broder our accountant, Bernie Resnick our lawyer, and our past team members Nathaniel Clark, Shear Arts, Max Raab, and many more…I am also entering the fourth year of my camp
Wabass with fellow bassists Hal Robinson and Eric Larson. This
year I’ve also had the pleasure of learning how to orchestrate. I
guess the ultimate appreciation I have from a professional stand point
is that life keeps giving me knowledge. Basically, I am paid to
learn. For this I feel so thankful.
Last and certainly not least… I would be without a career if it
wasn’t for our great fans who continue to listen to our music. The
listeners! I would love to share Thanksgiving with you all. Could
you imagine if that was literal? A thanksgiving Time for Three
concert and dinner!!!
That would be fun.
Maybe next year?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Review - Pacific Symphony performs 'tweet-cert' at Verizon

“These gentlemen in jeans, graduates of the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, can play. They perform original pieces as well as arrangements (some with orchestra, some without) with equal parts high energy and virtuosity. They chatter to the crowd between numbers informally, often drolly. Saturday’s audience gave all signs of eating it up.” — Orange County RegisterPosted on August 30, 2010 ()
